Our History

From Humble Beginnings to a Strong Commitment in Wildlife Care

Our journey began with a passion for helping wildlife long before we formed our own rescue. Starting under another organisation, we learned the basics of animal care and eventually moved to more advanced rehabilitation. With time, we developed better ways to care for injured animals and, with support from our community, we gained the tools to specialise our efforts.

After facing internal conflict and negativity, we decided to leave that organisation and focus solely on animal welfare. Our mission became clear: to rescue, rehabilitate, and release wildlife while ensuring their ecosystems are protected. This was the fresh start we needed, and it’s what continues to drive us today.

With a renewed focus on wildlife care, we’re committed more than ever to helping animals and preserving their habitats. Every day is a chance to make a difference, and we remain dedicated to doing just that.

The move to Elliot Springs brought new opportunities to expand our work. With a larger space, we could improve our rescue efforts and provide better care. This move allowed us to focus even more on wildlife, and our mission became clearer.

It was also during this time that we created ‘Snakefella Reptile Removals‘, which helped us specialise in reptile relocation’s. This expansion allowed us to balance both reptile and broader wildlife care, making sure that we could serve every animal in need.

Naming our organisation after Whites Creek felt right—it reflects our deep connection to the community and the ecosystems we care about. It keeps us grounded and reminds us of our commitment to local wildlife and conservation.

Today, we’re focused not just on rescuing wildlife but on restoring the ecosystems they depend on. We provide rehabilitation and pre-release enclosures, ensuring that animals are ready to thrive when they return to the wild.

Education is at the heart of our mission. By teaching the community about wildlife care and conservation, we’re building a stronger, more informed group of people who care about the animals around them.

Whites Creek Wildlife Care continues to grow, and we’re proud of the impact we’re making. With every animal we save and every person we educate, we’re one step closer to a better future for our wildlife.
